Taking Away my Limits

Written Report on our Presentation by: Carla Louise Bulacan Bayquen of the Geometry group for MATH 1
Math itself is a wonder. I have led the group to success. The film we have made was innovative, creative and full of effort. It was a pretty hectic week for me doing the shoots together with planning the CSM night since I am a CSM-SC officer. I have handled my time well even if there were times that I just want to explode. I am not finding a hard time to write this report since I myself learned so many values that I should posses. First, patience; one should always look after the group with this value. You will always have to deal with people gently; luckily I have a wonderful set of team. We the geometry group is united. Second, time management; I really had a hard time practicing this throughout last week. I am not much of a crammer but the video was rendered the day we presented it. Vyem edited the video with a little of my help, I am the script writer and director. Milce and I took turns in filming. Lastly, sacrifices are to be made. The video was not perfect although we took the scenes in many shots but with all of our hearts we have produced an artwork presenting mathematics with a touch of music.
The debate was wonderful. Our house has points that have a great foundation in which is supported by the Non-Euclidean geometry. Being the leader of the opposition, I have studied the topic well. Our house believed that the shortest distance between two points is NOT always a straight line; having my points:
*Is the world flat? (Euclidean); not best applied in the real world
*Straight line contains no curves
*Consider Non-Euclidian geometry (Assure audience that this exists)
*Consider Hyperbolic and Spherical geometry
*Our Universe is Non-Euclidean; space itself is fundamentally curved according to Einstein
*Curvature as the answer (ex. Curvature of the earth)
*It is geometry we’re talking about
The games we have prepared were fun and creative my station dealt with topology wherein from a square made out of triangles and quadrilaterals we let the competing teams form a head of a man wearing a hat. The stations basically used the concept between patterns, both manipulating it and understanding the possibilities.

I have put my heart into this presentation because I believe it is the key to produce a stunning presentation.

Actually I have written this report about a month ago and passed a hard copy, then my teacher told me that I should post it as a blog instead. Hoped you enjoyed what I have shared!
